Cory Babstock
Visual Storyteller | Photographer | Guide

Cory Babstock is a Newfoundland-based photographer working out of the scenic community of Shoal Harbour. His work is rooted in a deep connection to the province, shaped by time spent exploring its coastlines, communities, and quieter places.

After returning to photography following a life-altering injury, Cory developed a renewed focus on observing and documenting what often goes unnoticed. His images range from dramatic landscapes and historic structures to the wildlife that moves through these spaces, each approached with the same attention to light, timing, and atmosphere.

Much of his work is built on revisiting familiar locations, waiting for subtle changes in conditions or feeling. Whether it’s a stretch of coastline, a quiet outport, or an unexpected wildlife encounter, the goal remains the same: to create images that feel grounded, honest, and connected to place.

Cory works primarily with Canon equipment and aerial perspectives, and serves as Tour Operations Manager with Newfoundland Photo Tours, where he guides others through the landscapes that continue to shape his work.
