Just wanted to give a more in depth update on my wife’s medical incident yesterday.
First, she is good today. Exhausted, feels like she was hit by a bus, but good. She slept really well last night ( I didn’t lol ) and is in good spirits today.
She has been booked for an EEG in the coming month, if nothing shows on that, she will be placed into a sleep-deprived EEG in hopes of creating a seizure so they can see what’s happening with her brain activity.
She has been giving three different anti-seizure medications to consider, she will discuss pro’s and con’s with her family doctor tomorrow and we will decide which option will be the best for her. She has also been prescribed Ativan to take should she have another seizure.
She has been cleared to return to work once she has recovered physically from the effects of the seizure. She is hopeful that she will do so on Thursday.
The biggest adjustment is that she has lost her licence for no less than 6 months.
If this is the worst thing that happens from this, we are blessed.
That being said, it does present some challenges to my upcoming projects and plans. While she is without her licence I will NOT be travelling for photographs. I did have plans in place to visit multiple locations across the island for the remainder of the summer into the fall, these plans are all on hold for now.
Again, very small price to pay if that is the worst that can happen.
From a business standpoint, to the folks who have ordered calendars, prints etc. from me. I will get things back on track this week and orders will start flowing early next week. All early bird calendars should be in the mail by the end of next week all things being equal.
Not looking for charity or anything like that, but if you were considering purchasing from me, this would be as good a time as any. She hasn’t been working long enough to have any paid sick days and until my EI is straightened out ( over 2 months now ), the loss of income is not insignificant. Again, not begging, or pleading, but just a little nudge if you were planning on purchasing anyway.
What’s even more important is that you keep your collective fingers crossed for us that this was a one of event and that our lives, as complicated and filled with beautiful challenges as they can be, continues in good health!
Hug your loved ones folks, tell them you love them and cherish them always.
Thanks so very very much for all the support and the outpouring of love, you have filled our souls.
Thanks again, with love.
Cory
