Twillingate-Day 22-June 22, 2021

**** a note for the first time ever the podcast version has been recorded in my voice, have a listen, let me know what you think****

Folks, its hot…. hoooooooooot

Suffering through a very intense internal debate about going out for some sunset shots later or not. Leaning towards the not side of the argument. I’ve got a ton of in house stuff to do but who knows, if I look out the side window and see some impressive colours it could be a zoom out the door lol…

Last night was a pretty spectacular show for the sunset…

Sunset over Durrell
At the End of the Day
Evening Reflections
Evenings Light

Stunning, just stunning. Every night offers up something new. Folks, if you didn’ realize it already, let me say it again. If you are looking for a place to have your stay-cation or a place to visit when we open up, Twillingate MUST be on your list, it simply MUST be…

While the scenery is something else, it’s the people that make it special. I have been treated so well in my time here. I have had multiple people reach out to invite me to see what they have in their stages and sheds, just out of the blue. Today, I took one of those offers up and I was just FLOORED by this collection.

A little backstory, everything in this shoot was in a “shed” . One of the first things I noticed when I walked into the structure was 100 year old wallpaper on the eight inch pine boards. I asked the owner about it, and the answer was stunning. Turns out the entire structure was moved from across the town and rebuilt. They even numbered the beams and boards to put them back in the right order!!

And the collection, folks, there are museums not as neat and well presented as this shed was. I could, and will, get lost for hours in there. I couldn’t spend too long in the building today, the heat was amazingly high and heavy in there. The owner has assured me that I am welcome in there anytime I like, just give him a heads up and boom. So I will be doing that, with an eye for more detail shots. I look forward to it.

Stunning light, stunning vibe. I call these places cathedrals and its as true now as it ever was. My soul is lifted every time I enter a space like this, not that there’s a lot like this one.

For now, here’s what I captured today.

The Outport Cathedral

Simply amazing, and what a gift to be invited into this space. I am so happy to share it with you.

I do hope you are enjoying these blogs, if there is anything else you would like to see here please let me know!

Thanks for joining me on this journey!

Don’t forget, if you love the work, think about purchasing a piece or purchasing a coffee. I have lots of klicks to cover this summer, and your support was never more appreciated.
