What a stunningly beautiful day this was.
First I found one of my FAVORITE things to photograph, an old boat. This one is quite popular with photogs that pass through according to some of locals I talked to and I can see why. What a beauty, I LOVE the way the paint flakes and peels from old boats, houses and sheds, its as sure a sign of the passage of time as the wrinkles on your face.
I only hope that I have done the boat justice.

What a beauty hey?
A little later this afternoon I took a trip to Crow Head. LOVE the name, we should all be so lucky as to live in a town with a name as cool as Crow Head. There is a magnificent beach there with waters as green as any tropical location. The geology of this place, though different from what I am accustomed to in the Bonavista region, is no less awe inspiring. The seas are dotted with this sharp spires of stone that call to mind shark fins or dragons teeth….

The absolute HIGHLIGHT of the day however was my supper lol..
It’s far to easy to just call it supper, it was an experience, a happening, an event and worthy of ANY place in the world. I was kindly invited to join Crystal Anstey to take part in her on the beach culinary adventure she offers though her business, Experience Twillingate.
This was a low key event with 6 guests, 7 counting the host Crystal, who felt more like a part of our group than anything. Friendly, at ease, engaged and skilled at what she does Crystal entertained us with stories, put us all at ease with her relaxed manner and served up three amazing courses of locally sourced foods.
We arrived at the prearranged meeting spot, a beautiful area in Back Cove, the same place the boat I showed earlier can be found. Its a lovely area filled with colorful stages and a million dollar view.
It was a short walk to the beach where our meal was prepared and I have to say, it was one of the most enjoyable experiences I have had in Newfoundland. Scallops, Salad with local greens and foraged berries, spruce tips and more, homemade bread, the sweetest lobster and a beautiful berry tart with Fussells Cream for dessert… I’ll stop talking now and let the photos take it from here, from arrival, to departure and every delicious and enjoyable step in between…. enjoy….

I cannot stress enough how amazing this was. 100% take part in this if you get a chance, again, it’s Crystal Anstey at Experience Twillingate… simply stunning…
I’ll have a video up sometime over the weekend as well!
Not really a fine art shoot this evening, but a ton of fun and a great opportunity to talk about my craft, which is always a great thing to do!
Until tomorrow.
Thanks for joining me on this journey!
Don’t forget, if you love the work, think about purchasing a piece or buying a coffee I have lots of klicks to cover this summer, and your support was never more appreciated.
